Is it actually spring yet? I’m not really sure, but here in Florida it feels like spring so these 5 lipsticks have been on repeat lately! It’s the time of year when you want to look fresh, cheerful, and glowy with minimal effort. These 5 lipsticks for spring will make your lips the center of attention so just pair any of them with mascara and some blush and you’re all set.
The formula of this lipstick range is beyond beautiful; it’s full coverage with one swipe, has a built in primer, and is very smooth and moisturizing. This particular color, Shock Pop, won the Allure Best of Beauty Award (2017) and for good reason. It is described as a rich fuchsia (more pink) on websites, but personally I think it is more of a berry fuchsia (more purple). With just one swipe, you will look like you put way more effort in your look than you actually did!
Tip: Apply liberally for a bold look or just blot on the lips for a stained-berry effect.
Red is perfect all year round, isn’t it?? Maybe that’s just me, but I had to include one in my 5 lipsticks for spring! There’s just something about this particular red that makes it even more appropriate for spring time. Even though it’s a blue undertone red, it’s still bright and cheerful. The formula is somewhat transfer proof, but I would still be careful while eating massive burgers or greasy pizza. One swipe is all you need because of how pigmented this formula is and it is relatively not drying compared to other liquid lipsticks.
Tip: Apply lip balm while you do the rest of your makeup then remove it before applying this lipstick to avoid dryness. If the lip balm isn’t removed first, the liquid lipstick won’t be as transfer proof.
What’s a spring lipstick list without a coral lipstick? After all, it is the Pantone color of the year! This Maybelline lipstick range is super pigmented, creamy, flattering, and AFFORDABLE. Honestly, all the colors in this range are some of my favorites, but this particular color looks beautiful and youthful on all skin tones. It’s very easy to wear (requires minimal touch ups) and adds the right amount of coral without being overpowering.
If you love the ease of use of lip crayons, then you won’t be disappointed by the Morphe lip crayons! At first, I was skeptical of trying these because my favorite lip crayons are the Nars ones which are relatively expensive compared to these. However, I was pleasantly surprised! All the colors I’ve tried (lighter colors) are extremely pigmented and smooth. You will get a patch-free, comfortable matte finish with these. The color FOMO is a toasted mauve that isn’t too pink, too nude, or too mauve. It goes with any makeup and is only $9! What a steal??
If you completely hate matte lipsticks, these YSL lipsticks will become your best friend. They truly are an oil-in-stick lipstick that aren’t too oily. They’re very pigmented, leave a beautiful stain behind, give your lips a juicy appearance, and actually hydrate your lips. The color Pink Babylone is my favorite for spring and summer because it’s a pink that has a hint of coral which makes it super wearable. This is the kind of lipstick that will live at the bottom of your purse because of how easy it is to apply!
I would love to know what are your go-to lipsticks for spring. Leave your recommendations in the comments because who knows, you may be the reason someone else finds his/her go to lipstick!
